Hyderabad: The76th Republic Day was celebrated with grandeur and fervour at Sri City, reflecting the spirit of unity and patriotism among its vibrant community. The celebrations commenced with a ceremonial flag hoisting at the Business Centre lawns by GV Paideswara Rao, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sri City, followed by an impressive parade led by the Sri City Security Force under the command of Security Officer Munimohan.

In his address, Paideswara Rao highlighted the sacrifices of India’s freedom fighters and urged the community to uphold the core principles of the Constitution. He praised Sri City’s remarkable contribution to regional development and employment generation, while appreciating the Sri City Security team for their pivotal role in maintaining law and order. He encouraged collective efforts to make Sri City the safest place to live and work. Dr Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder Managing Director of Sri City, conveyed warm Republic Day greetings in a message, stating, “Sri City is proud to contribute to India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat mission, align with the Make in India initiative, and support the Nari Shakti movement, while advancing the Government of India’s Viksit Bharat@2047 vision and the Andhra Pradesh Government’s Swarna Andhra-2047 vision.” Y Ramesh, Assistant General Manager, Security & Vigilance welcomed the gathering, and Mr C. Rameshkumar, Vice President (Customer Relations) outlined the achievements of Sri City as a thriving industrial hub.

Enhancing the celebratory atmosphere, female groups and children from the adjacent Mallavaripalem (East), Appayapalem and Arur village captivated the audience with traditional rural folk dances and 'Kolaatam’ and Karagattam. Leena graciously performed Bharatanatyam. A group of children showcased their proficiency in stick fighting (Karra Samu).

The celebrations extended beyond the main event, with flag hoisting ceremonies held at the Development Commissioner’s office, Krea University, IIIT, Chinmaya Vidyalaya, and 17 government schools.
